Seasonal Seafood Availability Charts

Seafood is harvested in the seasons that they can be caught in the local sounds, bays, creeks, rivers and offshore ocean waters.   To see when your favorite seafood is in season, download these availability charts.  They were compiled and published by the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium, North Carolina SeaGrant, and the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries.   We appreciated their permission to distribute them on our site.

Mariners Menu
Since 1973, representatives from extension clubs in Carteret County, North Carolina have met monthly in the North Carolina State University Seafood Laboratory kitchen to test new ways of handling, storing and preparing seafood caught off the North Carolina coast. The seafood wisdom of these “nutrition leaders” is published in Mariner’s Menu: 30 Years of Fresh Seafood Ideas.
