Mr. Nash has been an extension associate with the North Carolina Sea Grant College
Program and North Carolina State University for over eight years. Mr. Nash assists
seafood processors in devising business strategies that address the development of
further-processed seafood, product quality, seafood safety, bio-security issues, and direct
marketing. He has served as co-project leader of the Carteret Catch branding program.

Dr. Martin has been a Carteret County resident for over 14 years. She has a dual appointment with the
NOAA Fisheries Service as a researcher in fisheries ecology and oceanography and as an outreach
specialist to the commercial fishing community. Dr. Martin is an expert on the role environmental
regulation has on the sustainability of commercially-harvested marine species.
